How To Build a Propper Skincare Routine for maximum Antiaging Results

As much as we all want to remain eternally youthful, there is nothing we can do to actually stop or reverse the natural aging process. However, we can create a skincare routine that can help us give our bodies and faces a more even and radiant complexion.

The most important factors that contribute to an overall healthier life, in this case, healthier-looking skin, are quality sleep and nutrition. But when we are trying to implement these important lifestyle habits, there are also products that contain specific ingredients to look for a powerful skincare routine. And the steps that should be taken in a specific order are as follows:

  1. Cleansing

  2. Exfoliating

  3. Hydrating

  4. Protecting

There is no surprise to tell you that protecting our skin from harmful sun damage is the number one product we should look for in our quest to building a propper and powerful skincare routine. The best sunscreen lotion should have broad-spectrum protection, meaning it protects against both UVA and UVB rays - and has SPF30 minimum to prevent sun damage that can translate as premature wrinkles, and/or skin cancer. But in order for any product to penetrate the skin layers, we need to build our skincare routine from the bottom up.

Morning Routine

After washing, with a suitable cleanser depending on the kind of skin ( dry, oily, combination, or normal), we need to exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. I personally use Philosophy microdelivery exfoliating facial wash, which has very gentle beads. I use it in the morning right after I wash my face, and alternate it with Derma E Anti-wrinkle Toner which contains glycolic acid, a form of chemical exfoliant when I don't utilize the physical exfoliating wash.

I follow up with Perricone MD. High Potency Firming Eye Lift, High Potency Amine Face Lift, and Cold Plasma Sub-D for my neck. And I seal it all up with the very important Sun lotion; I use Neutrogena Clear Face Oil-free Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50.

Nighttime Routine

After I clean my face, I use Yes to tomatoes detoxifying charcoal facial wipes, or Yes to coconut cleansing wipes, then I apply Dickinson's Enhanced with Witch Hazel Hydrating Toner with a cotton pad, and let my skin dry completely to apply the golden product which contains the secret antiaging ingredient Retin-A. I go to the dermatologist to get the prescription for Tretinoin. I started my journey with this amazing ingredient when I turned 40 years old. The first prescription I got was0.25%, I build it up little by little to 0.05%, until last year when I turned 45 years old, I was able to finally get the highest one 0.01% Tretinoin. I apply CeraVe PM facial moisturizing lotion on top, to seal it all up. Keep in mind that I started using Retinol, which is a weaker form of Retin A in my late twenties, to get my skin used to the most potent form of Retin A. The most important and essential thing you must do if you use this product is to only use it at night, and apply sunscreen every single day to protect your skin.

Please keep in mind that none of the above-mentioned products are sponsored, they are what I use, and I simply wanted to share them with you, because I have experienced great results with the complexion of my almost 46 years old skin, which should be looking a lot more wrinkled and saggy from natural aging, but with the morning and evening rituals I have been following, my skin still has a little bit of evenness.

With the help of habits and rituals, and knowing what ingredients to use in our skincare routines, we can create a way to pamper ourselves, lift our spirits up, and create a lifestyle worth living!

What are your favorite skincare products? I am curious.

Thank you for stopping by.
